Bliss Bars now available through Ultimate Superfoods

Here is a quote from their blog @ theblissbar.org:

For The Bliss Bar this was the first official event where Keval and I were introducing our new Organic Raw Superfood energy bar "The Bliss Bar". We had the opportunity first hand to really receive customer and peer feedback about some of our new flavors like Coconut Goji Green Tea and Chia Mulberry. The results are in and Coconut Goji Green Tea was by far the crowd pleaser, and what we noticed was the blissful oooh's and aaah's, always a joyous response. Some people were a bit confused with the color being green and for me green tea matcha is a vibrant green color, but for some reason it was hard to comprehend compared to the traditional brown color of cacao. People were won over once they allowed themselves to drop into the bliss and try this new creation, and it is awe inspiring to see people have such a powerful experience with our products. There is so much superfood information to share with people and it is so new to most, but what I find is they really are moved deeply by the taste and experience of our cacao. I'm feeling like our creations can speak to them on an intimate level, and when they are opened up by The Bliss Bar we can then enhance their knowledge about this superfood nutrition lifestyle.

Irradiation question explored

0

Our colleague Chris reviews the details of irradiation and Organic Foods:

“Organic” “Live” food products fall under a category that ships without irradiation (x-ray or otherwise), and is actually against federal law to do so. Our packaging actually states:

Do Not Irradiate
Organic Food
U.S. Federal Law, Volume 65, Section 205-105(1) Prohibits “irradiation” of organic products:
Section 205.661(g)(1) states that Civil Penalties of up to $10,000 per violation may apply

In the rare occasion (it does occasionally happen however):

The package is seized, a package is physically opened from the box, and a physical inspection is conducted (can include samples being tested, etc.). It’s more intrusive, but the shipment and product will keep its FULL integrity.

It is not often this happens – but when this occurs, there is (very) clear documentation that the packaged was searched.

This has happened on inbound shipment, and we may lose a 30 lb. bag of Camu Camu for example, but that loss is acceptable to us if it means NOT irradiating an entire pallet or container (and destroying the integrity of its contents!).

Also keep in mind, FedEx and/or Customs would rather physically open a package rather than irradiate: they get a better look at the contents, and can actually test a sample in detail.
